We're looking for a Team Manager to lead a high-performing team of compliance analysts in a complex regulatory environment.
We're looking for a dynamic people leader to head our National Monitoring & Intelligenceteam.
This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of actionable intelligence and operational oversight to detect illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) commercial fishing offending in New Zealand fisheries waters.
About You - Mou
As our Team Manager – National Monitoring & Intelligence, you will :
Drive national priorities and compliance strategies for commercial fisheries
Oversee intelligence analysis and monitoring programmes that inform operational decisions
Continue to develop and implement risk-based and scanning frameworks
Provide authoritative advice to senior leadership and ensure compliance with legislative and evidential standards
Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and technical excellence
Ensure the team adheres to legislation, maintains professional standards and ethics
Represent MPI across MPI and other government agency forums
Supporting the continued improvement and innovation of our digital monitoring tools
To be considered a successful applicant you will have :
Proven leadership experience in an intelligence or regulatory environment
Strong analytical skills
Strong understanding of legislation and regulatory processes
Ability to build effective relationships across government and industry
It is also desirable that you will have :
Expertise in compliance operations
Familiarity with technologies used in monitoring and regulatory environments
Knowledge of commercial fishing
