What you’ll do

• Deliver conceptual and detailed HV primary substation designs for transmission and distribution projects.
• Produce layouts, clearance checks, specifications, earthing, cable sizing, and constructability reviews.
• Apply the latest 2D and 3D digital design tools to diverse client requirements.
• Collaborate with senior specialists while mentoring junior engineers.
• Take responsibility for packages of work, ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
• Engage directly with clients and stakeholders, providing trusted advice.

About you

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Senior to Technical Director level experience in primary HV substation design ; secondary design skills welcome.
• Strong technical capability in drawings, calculations, and QA.
• Skilled with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Autodesk packages.
• Familiar with New Zealand and Australian HV standards.
• Organised, adaptable, and motivated to deliver quality outcomes.
