Job Opportunity : HR & Payroll Assistant

If you're someone with exposure to payroll who is looking to gain experience and exposure to the world of HR but struggling to break in, then this is the role for you!

About The Role

You'll be joining a small, tight-knit, people-focused team under a manager who leads from the front.

You'll play a crucial role supporting the entire HR team with administration and coordination relating to all aspects of the employee lifecycle – from recruitment and onboarding, to payroll, employee relations, workforce planning, wellbeing, and organisational development.

You'll also gain exposure to strategic HR projects and initiatives, making this an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to grow their career in human resources and learn from a supportive, experienced team.

This is an entry-level step into HR and there are progression opportunities within the team you can work your way toward.

About You

This client is looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and people-focused – a natural organiser who enjoys variety and working with others.

You'll Ideally Bring

Experience supporting payroll functions, and failing that HR and / or LMS.

Strong administration and coordination experience, ideally within government or a large organisation.

Excellent attention to detail, data management, and organisational skills.

Strong communication and relationship management capabilities.

The ability to multitask, prioritise, and stay calm under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).

A tertiary qualification (or working towards one) in HR, Business, or a related field – not required, but ideal.
