You'll be expected to anticipate the needs of others, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and navigate professional relationships with agility. Your role involves engaging with government agencies and communities to ensure their aspirations are reflected in your work. Key areas of mahi include law reform, reviewing operational platforms that impact whānau and communities, and managing risks to keep senior leaders informed and ensure timely resolution of issues.

The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered. We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.

The Investment and Operational Policy team within Performance and Funding draws on research and regional insights to develop policies and implementation plans that align with government direction and guide investment decisions for the Hauora Māori Service.

    About you

You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven experience in risk management, project coordination, and navigating complex working relationships. Familiarity with Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and a commitment to equity and community engagement are also important attributes for success in this role.

    You will have :
