Session facilitator

Playcentre Aotearoa is a well known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children’s learning through play. Playcentre operates over 400 Playcentres throughout the country.

Akaroa Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic session facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child-led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme. You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whānau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.

Negotiable for the successful candidate

Days & hours :

Tuesday and Thursday 10am–2pm (including a 30-minute unpaid break). This is a permanent position during term time only.

Start and finish times may be negotiable between the hours of 9am and 2pm for the successful candidate

The ideal candidate will :

• Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher.
• Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.
• Hold a primary teaching qualification and be prepared to undertake a Playcentre Bridging Course
