Responsibilities
- Design and implement creative proficiency-based units of learning curriculum that adhere to the principles of Green School, ensuring lessons are accessible to all students.
- Create unit plans following the Green School unit planning processes that incorporate REAL teaching principles, Green School Skills and Green School values.
- Provide continuous, specific, timely feedback to learners and their whānau, including written reports and conferencing.
- Collect, analyse, and utilise literacy assessment data to inform teaching practice, track learner progress, and support differentiated learning across middle and high school levels.
- Collaborate to provide individualised, differentiated, and personalised support as needed, mentoring and guiding all learners to achieve an effective learning experience.
- Collaborate with the Learning Neighbourhood team to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of learners.

Qualifications & Attributes
What are your essential attributes? Adaptability, creativity, integrity, optimism / positive attitude, cultural sensitivity, and reliability.Full-time position requiring an action-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks.Strong experience with curriculum development.Excellent spoken and written English.Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent postgraduate qualifications.Minimum 5 years of teaching experience.Experience working in conceptually based curriculums where learners co-construct and student agency is valued.Basic to advanced understanding of sustainability issues and values.Able to work in multiple learning environments, often outside.Uphold the code of Professional Responsibility / Ngā Tikanga Matatika and meet the standards for the Teaching Profession / Ngā Paerewa.Soft-skills : We educate for sustainability through community-integrated, entrepreneurial learning in a natural environment; our holistic, learner-guided approach inspires and empowers green leadership. This is the Green School Way.Specific skills : The ideal applicant will :Be registered with the Teaching Council of New Zealand and hold a current practising teaching certificate.
Be flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work across year levels and contribute to the school culture.Have an outstanding reputation as an educator.Be able to demonstrate alignment with our vision and mission and a deep personal passion for a cause or interest outside of classroom teaching.Have experience of, or capacity to upskill in, a Structured Literacy approach for Middle school teaching.Have at least a Bachelor of Education or equivalent and 5 years teaching experience.All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; Green School New Zealand respects and encourages diversity and is an equal opportunity working environment.
