OverviewTe Whanau Tupu Ngatahi o Aotearoa - Playcentre Aotearoa, is a well known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children's learning through play.

Playcentre operates 400 Playcentres throughout the country.

Milson Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community for one session per week.

You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance.

You will be a hands-on team member who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whanau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.Position descriptionClick here to view or download the full Position DescriptionStart date10 October 2025Days & hoursFridays 9 : 15am – 1 : 15pm, 4 hours per week.

This is a permanent position, during school term time only.The candidate must haveThe Playcentre C3 qualification or the New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care L4 or a higher ECE qualification or a Primary Teaching qualification with the Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award, for licencing purposes.A current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.Please contact us if you have queries about your qualifications in relation to this role.Desirable skills and experience will includeA passion for Playcentre and our philosophy;Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whariki and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;Great time management and with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience at centre level communicating with both tamariki and adults;An ability to support and empower parents, whanau, and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required;Confidence when speaking within a group.A passion for supporting Te Reo Maori and tikanga and engaging all whanau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.Closing date26 September 2025 - we will review applications upon receipt and may appoint before this dateHow to applySubmit your application by clicking the Apply Now button below.If you have any questions or would like more information about the role, please contact us at
