Resource Teacher of the Deaf - Wellington
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
We are seeking an engaging, innovative teacher who has strong communication skills and is a collaborative team player as these skills will be needed in all you do.
You will be required to work in mainstream schools and other specialist schools to work closely with DHH students, whanau and school staff / teams.
This is a permanent, 0.8FTE role.
Engaging within your assigned caseload with related record keeping and liaison with families and whanau to assist with student participation and success in their education and life outcomes.
Proven best practice and experience working with Deaf children and / or working with mainstream children.
Qualified Teacher of the Deaf or an experienced NZ registered teacher.
Use of own car with mileage reimbursed (with conditions).
You will have existing skills, or demonstrate a willingness to develop proficiency, in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and listening and spoken language practices for DHH learners.
Recent practical experience working with the early levels of the New Zealand Curriculum.
