Smart Disputes is responsible for the design, maintenance and implementation of Dispute Resolution Programmes.
Smart Disputes at ASB considers the nature of Disputes and the impacts on our customers, and avails tooling that can be created to assist them.
As a Software Consultant at ASB, you\'ll play a pivotal part in shaping the design and delivery of complex software solutions across our platforms.
This is a senior individual contributor role (Level 4) that blends deep technical expertise with solution architecture, platform ownership, and cross-squad collaboration.
You'll work closely with engineers, product owners, and architects to design scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
Whether you're building SDKs, maintaining event brokers, or mentoring engineers, your work will directly influence the quality and resilience of our technology stack.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, enjoys coaching others, and wants to drive technical excellence without formal people leadership responsibilities
8+ years of hands-on Pega experience
, with a minimum
CSSA certification
(required for this role)
Deep knowledge of the full delivery lifecycle
, from analysis and design to development and deployment
Confidence applying and communicating industry best practices
across teams and stakeholders
A solid understanding of integration principles
and how tech stacks can be used to solve business challenges
Experience working in Agile environments
, with certification or practical exposure to Agile methods
Familiarity with DevSecOps principles
and a compliance-focused approach to software engineering
Strong interpersonal skills
, with the ability to build relationships across all levels and explain technical concepts to non-experts
Exposure to cloud-based engineering solutions
and
AI
is a bonus
Experience with mentoring engineers and developing engineering capability
