We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician with a practical mindset and problem‑solving skills to take ownership of the upkeep, cleanliness, and safety of our bakeries, kitchens, and café sites.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on, varied role that combines site maintenance, minor repairs, pest control, and general upkeep of our buildings and equipment. You’ll play a key part in keeping Daily Bread’s spaces clean, compliant, and operational — from mowing lawns and fixing a leaky tap to keeping equipment running and ensuring the environment is pest‑free and food‑safe.

You’ll work across multiple sites, supporting our production, café, and logistics teams to minimise downtime and maintain top‑notch standards.

What You’ll Do

Carry out routine maintenance across buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas.

Perform minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and repair work as needed.

Oversee pest control – inspecting, treating, and recording outcomes for compliance.

Maintain lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces, ensuring all areas are tidy and safe.

Support our Food Control Plan (FCP) and Health & Safety compliance.

Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and pest control activities.

Respond to urgent maintenance requests and ensure a fast turnaround.

Manage inventory of cleaning, pest, and maintenance supplies.

About You

You’re practical, reliable, and proactive — someone who enjoys solving problems and keeping things running smoothly. You’ll be equally comfortable fixing a door, spraying a fly trap, or pressure‑washing a courtyard. You take pride in maintaining tidy, well‑kept spaces that reflect Daily Bread’s quality and care.

What we need

Solid experience in general maintenance, facilities, or trade support.

Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.

Experience with pest control (or willingness to train in it).

Strong understanding of health, safety, and food safety standards.

Full NZ driver’s licence and ability to travel between sites.

Good communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude.

Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role.
