We are seeking a dedicated Field Technician to join our team.
Working with agronomists, external providers, contractors and contracted growers, supporting them where required to grow a range of vegetable seed crops.
The position is in Southern Tasmania operating out of Richmond.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with the SPS field team, agronomists, researchers, and external providers, assisting staff with the company's lease sites and trial grounds to ensure the correct, safe, and timely crop management practices are performed.Activities include but are not limited to crop maintenance and presentation, ground preparation, sowing, transplanting, irrigation, agrochemical application, volunteer plant control, roguing, trimming for flowering management, harvesting and threshing of contracted crops, research, and nicking trials.Maintain and repair machinery owned and operated by SPS.
General other maintenance as required.Knap sack spraying of crops and trials.Operate and ensure the companies' equipment and attachments are properly operated.
