We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the maintenance, servicing, and operational management of our construction plant and equipment.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring all machinery, vehicles, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards to support our construction projects efficiently and safely.
This is a full-time (40 hrs), permanent position with an annual salary of $95,000 to $115,000 depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and coordinate the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all plant, trucks, and associated equipment.
Plan and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
Oversee vehicle inspections, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Manage the loading, unloading, and secure storage of construction materials, plant, and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, service history, and plant usage.
Ensure adherence to all safety standards and promote a culture of safety across the team.
Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to coordinate timely delivery and movement of plant and materials.
Supervise and support plant operators and maintenance staff, ensuring effective performance and training where required.
Monitor performance of vehicles and equipment, proactively addressing any potential malfunctions.
Manage supplier and contractor relationships related to plant servicing and parts procurement.
Oversee the upkeep of sheds, site kitchenettes, and site hoardings, including painting and minor works.
Skills and Experience :
A minimum of 2 years proven experience in a plant management, maintenance, or fleet operations role within the construction industry.
Strong technical understanding of plant equipment, trucks, and maintenance processes.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Sound knowledge of health and safety practices and compliance requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
Competent computer and record-keeping skills.
Full NZ driver's licence (Class 2 or higher an advantage).
