Manager Cloud Engineering

Overview

The Manager Cloud Engineering will oversee the organization's cloud computing strategy.

You will manage the deployment, maintenance, and security of cloud infrastructure and services to meet business objectives and ensure compliance.

There is an element of individual contribution to this role, as well as providing leadership to a team of Cloud Engineers.

Responsibilities

Champion the move to a cloud based or software defined 'everything as a service' infrastructure within MetService

Lead and manage the performance of cloud platforms, security and cloud engineering staff and contractors

Foster a culture of high engagement, open communication, and professionalism, as embodied by the MetService values.

Coach and develop diverse talent to build the people capability required to deliver outcomes

Establish and maintain effective budget control of cloud costs in line with financial targets

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background of successful cloud migration and delivery.

Additionally, they will be capable of driving / supporting changes through technology in an organisation that is on the journey to rationalise and standardise tools, technologies, and approaches.

Qualifications

Previous experience leading a team of people to deliver efficient and effective services to customers

Practical application and 3 - 5 years experience with

AWS CloudFormation, AWS EC2, VPC, S3 and similar technologies

Linux server support

Experience in a DevOps environment with various stakeholders

Initiative to anticipate situations and problems and ability to advise of the appropriate solution / s.

Strong delivery focus with a hands-on approach.

Flexible and customer focussed particularly under stressful situations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
