The Role : Compounding Technician – Pharmaceutical

A great opportunity has become available for a
Compounding Technician
to join our team in the Christchurch facility in a
Full-time permanent position
, with operational hours
08 : 00 to 17 : 30
and two shift options (08 : 00–16 : 30 or 09 : 00–17 : 30) with flexibility to perform overtime as required.
In this role you will be responsible for the aseptic production process—manufacturing chemotherapy, antibiotics and nutritional products for hospitals and patients.
This includes preparing and compounding sterile medications and solutions according to established protocols, ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality.
Candidates who are looking to start their career in pharmaceuticals are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Picking and preparing raw materials
Aseptically compounding sterile solutions
Packing finished units for each order including final inspection of products
Labeling and dispatching prepared products
Ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Adhering to Baxter's Standard Operating Procedures
Contribute to Baxter's full inclusion and diversity culture
Other duties as required
Essential skills & qualifications
Attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills
Ability to adapt to shift work schedules as needed
Providing assistance in environments with defined procedures and protocols
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for a safe and efficient work environment
Comfort working within a cleanroom environment for most of your working day
Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently
Good basic math skills
Effective verbal and written communication
Experience in pharmacy, manufacturing or warehousing is an advantage
Manual handling and dexterity capabilities
Previous manual compounding experience is highly regarded
Additional requirements
A pre-employment medical including vision screening (GMP requirement), background and reference checks
Note : Training and orientation will require flexibility for approximately 3–5 months with shift times ranging between 9 : 00 and 18 : 00.
