The Role
You are a strategic storyteller with a passion for making a difference to our survivors’ lives!
We are looking for a dynamic Fundraising & Communications Manager to lead our efforts in building meaningful relationships, driving donor engagement, and amplifying our mission across multiple platforms to reach the organisation’s fundraising targets. You will support public relations communications and marketing both within the agency as well as in the community.
In this full‑time 40‑hour per week role, you will also manage and develop our fundraising staff and volunteers, as well as provide support to the Executive Director and other Senior Managers on fundraising matters.
Key aspects of this role include
- Strategy & Planning : Develop and implement short and long‑term fundraising strategies in collaboration with the Executive Director. Plan and execute fundraising campaigns with compelling written communications and social media engagement and promotion, using multiple social media platforms as well as fundraising platforms like Keela, Raisely, and Grassrootz.
- Fundraising Events : Deliver strategic fundraising events (e.g. HELP & Soul), managing logistics, budgets, volunteers, and sponsorships. Coordinate all aspects of fundraising events—from venue hire and entertainment to catering, promotional material, auctions, ticketing, and volunteer management.
- Website, Social Media & Community Engagement : Represent HELP Auckland at external events, managing stalls and volunteers to raise awareness and support. Lead social marketing campaigns to support survivors and drive social change. Co‑develop and implement external and internal communications strategies. Oversee updates to the HELP website, and manage all Raisely fundraising sites.
- Donor Relationships & Communications : Oversee all EDMs (including quarterly internal and external newsletters), as well as direct mail campaigns to acquire and retain donors. Engage donors via phone to foster relationships, encourage monthly giving, and discuss bequest opportunities. Oversee CRM data integrity, donor tagging, and automated email journeys to enhance engagement.
- Reporting : Co‑develop and implement external and internal communications strategies & prepare fundraising reports for the Finance Manager and Executive Director on a regular basis.
Qualifications
Experience in fundraising, communications, or event management—ideally in the nonprofit sector.Experience leading a fundraising team.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.Confidence using CRM systems (Keela experience a plus).A warm, proactive approach to donor and volunteer engagement.Good documentation skills.Strong time management skills.We offer
