Mō te tūranga | About the roleThe Department of Conservation have recently made some big changes to help our people and operations work better together-so we can achieve the conservation outcomes we're aiming for. As part of this, we've introduced a new role : Site Support Officer. Reporting to the Operations Advisor or Regional Planning and Performance Manager, this role plays a key part in delivering essential administrative support to help ensure the efficient and safe functioning of DOC facilities across the region. The position will be focussed on :

• Supporting the Site Lead to ensure smooth and safe operation of DOC premises, acting as the main site contact for office and facility issues
• Being the go-to person for general office management
• Ensuring DOC pool vehicles at site are fit for purpose and maintained as required (such as services and WOFs etc)
• Support key site health and safety tasks such as safety / fire drills, site inductions, regular checks and ACC safety audits

• Experience in a broad administration support, facility or fleet management role
• A detail-oriented problem solver with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with ease

• You bring a proactive approach and a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for more efficient ways to get things done
