Overview
Te Kaunihera o Tamaki Makaurau / Auckland Council has a permanent full-time lawyer opportunity to join the Commercial legal team of Nga Ratonga Ture / Legal Services.
Responsibilities
Support all commercial, construction, corporate, development and transactional work of Council and key subsidiaries, from business-as-usual procurement and contract negotiation to significant infrastructure, urban renewal and large project work.
Support council's capital raising, funding and finance activities, corporate governance and compliance.
Engage in a diverse range of commercial work, including large contracts (waste, maintenance and operating contracts), joint ventures, and ICT projects and services.
Provide quality legal research, analysis and advice; work on increasingly technical matters with an initial focus on development and infrastructure.
Qualifications and experience
4-10 years PQE (depending on experience and expertise).
Interest in commercial and transactional work; local government experience not required.
Ability to work with other lawyers in Legal Services, elected members and a wide range of business units and managers.
