As a Data Steward in this Data Governance Analyst role, you'll play an integral part in supporting change across Kiwibank in how data makes a difference—for our customers, our teams, and our business.

Based in Wellington or Auckland with the flexibility of our hybrid working arrangements.

12-month fixed term.

Responsibilities

Help Kiwibank introduce new data management practices across the bank, and support teams in their stewardship of data and metadata.

This includes hands-on work in the Alation data catalogue, consolidating metadata, and supporting priority business units to deliver initial use cases.

Collaborate with leaders in Technology, Transformation, and senior stakeholders across Kiwibank's priority business areas.

Qualifications

A solid understanding of data management fundamentals, such as Data Governance, Data Quality, or Metadata Management

Hands-on experience with data analysis tools, techniques and SQL / Python / SAS skills

Experience working with data entry or data management processes

Practical involvement in identifying, escalating, and resolving data issues

An appreciation of the value that well-managed data delivers to an organisation (such as a bank), and the ability to demonstrate this in your day-to-day work

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate as part of a high-performing team

A commercially astute, resilient, and adaptable mindset, with a drive for continuous improvement

A team-oriented approach, thriving in a fast-paced and complex environment
