Accounts Payable Officer

OverviewAs an Accounts Payable Officer you will be responsible for processing invoices and payment of approved payment runs.

Ensuring all invoices processed have been accurately and correctly coded, payments are made in a timely manner and all supplier reconciliations are complete and up to date.

About the roleWe are seeking applicants to join our busy finance team based in our Head Office in Porirua.

You will be part of a productive and supportive team.

You will have responsibility for various functions which will include stock receipting, debtor invoicing, and supplier statement reconciling (intermediate Excel skills a must).

You will have a keen understanding of accounts and be comfortable assisting other members of the accounts team in all accounts functions.Job tasks and responsibilitiesPromptly process invoices.Reconcile and clear overdue accounts.Maintain supplier records and process journals.Handle local and overseas creditors reconciliations.Implement process improvements.Process stock invoices against store receipts and resolve discrepancies.Process General Ledger coded invoices and credit notes.Resolve discrepancies with credit notes, claims, and appropriate coding.Assist in maintaining the accounts payable system and processes, including internal financial controls.Ensure compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.Ideal Candidate : Minimum of 2-3 years of Accounts Payable experience.Proficient in Excel (strong intermediate to advanced level).

Highly efficient and accurate in data entry processing.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Positive, conscientious, and self-motivated.Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.Experience in a retail and / or apparel-focused business is a plus.We are looking for a passionate team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
