They will be responsible for a variety of carpentry tasks, working on residential or commercial projects, and ensuring all work meets NZ building codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities :

  • Constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and wood, plywood, and wallboard fixtures.
  • Framing walls, floors, and roofs.
  • Installing doors, windows, and cabinetry.
  • Working from blueprints and drawings.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Following Site Safe procedures.
  • Selecting and ordering appropriate building materials.
  • Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping materials.
  • Collaborating with other tradespeople and site supervisors.
  • Communicating effectively with team members and clients.

Requirements and Skills :

  • NZQCF Level 4 qualification or higher in Carpentry or at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Site Safe passport an advantage.
  • Valid driver's licence an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong understanding of building materials and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness.
  • Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) status is an advantage.
  • Experience operating a forklift is an advantage.
  • Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.
  • Must be NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.

    • The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.

    This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$30 and NZ$40, depending on experience and qualification. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
