This Hawke's Bay based audit leadership opportunity could see the right person tracking through to shareholding. This is an exciting and rewarding role for an experienced auditor looking for change. We are seeking an experienced audit director to take over the leadership reins of a team of ten in a highly respected business advisory and accountancy firm with a global footprint. Baker Tilly Staples Rodway Hawke's Bay, although locally owned and operated, is part of New Zealand and international networks with global connections, has their feet firmly planted here in Hawke’s Bay. Locally their expertise is deep, and the culture is collaborative. With a team of close to 50 professionals, including auditors, HR advisors, and business consultants, they deliver trusted advice and meaningful impact for their clients and their own people.

Responsibilities

• Join a leadership team of six Directors based in Hawke’s Bay. As the sole audit director, oversee the delivery of high-quality external audit and assurance services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from commercial entities, FMCs, not-for-profit, education and everything in between.
• Lead locally in building and maintaining trusted client relationships, ensuring audit services are compliant with regulatory standards while tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.
• Oversee a 10-person audit team — review and ensure performance across their work and drive a culture of client engagement.
• Be part of a national audit practice and work collaboratively with audit directors and team members from other Baker Tilly Staples Rodway offices across New Zealand.

About the Firm

This role reports to the managing director. You will sit in the leadership team and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm.
