What you’ll do

  • Prepare and process resource consent applications, including assessment of environmental effects, notices of requirement, and outline plans.
  • Undertake tasks associated with lodging resource consent applications, such as public consultation and identifying regulatory pathways.
  • Assist with and lead community engagement activities on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare district plan changes, strategic documents, submissions on plan changes and policy statements, and supporting technical reports.
  • Conduct research, feasibility studies, and produce reports suitable for client review and presentation.
  • Provide input into project planning and assist project managers in scoping projects, including verification activities.
  • Advise clients on resource management plans, policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Present evidence and advice at local authority hearings.
  • Act as Project Manager or Task Manager, ensuring deliverables meet client needs and projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Resource and Environmental Planning or Urban Planning, or a similar qualification recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar planning role.
  • Membership of NZPI or actively working towards it.
  • High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a client-centric approach.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Current clean driver’s licence.
