Software Engineer

Overview

Software Engineer role at Fonterra in Te Mātāpuna Fonterra’s Commodity Risk & Trading (CR&T) team. You’ll be building systems that power a multi-billion-dollar trading business where physical supply chains meet financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop tools that enable asset-backed trading, portfolio shaping, origination, and real-time execution.
• Build systems such as algorithmic trading platforms, risk pricing engines, and related analytics that influence trading decisions, risk management, and P&L outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and risk managers to solve real business problems beyond delivering tickets.
• Focus on correctness, performance, and reliability, with code that has a direct line to business impact.
• Contribute to a team that values curiosity, craft, and continual improvement, and participate in shaping better ways to solve problems.
