About the Role

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki is seeking a casual general radiologist to work in our department at Taranaki Base Hospital.

You would be working as part of a dynamic team with radiologists, and a wider MDT.

Our teamwork is evolving with the intent that we will become part of providing diagnostic excellence not just for the community of Taranaki, but also to the wider New Zealand community through our data and digital connectivity.

General X-ray

CT

MRI

Interventional work

Angiography

Ultrasound

Nuclear Medicine

Fluoroscopy

All modalities are state of the art, with CT, MRI and ultrasound all upgraded in 2022.

An integrated regional RIS / PACS is in use.

We recognise the importance of professional development and work life balance and so work together locally and regionally to support this.

About you

You will possess essential skills that include general plain film, ultrasound, CT, and MRI reporting.

Desirable skills : sub-specialty interest in any of the following — musculoskeletal MRI; general interventional radiology (no intracranial work); CT colonography; cardiac CT; or nuclear medicine.

Registration : ideally vocational registration from the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligible for vocational registration through appropriate recognised post-graduate qualifications from another country.

You may check the MCNZ website tool for self-assessment and registration pathways that would allow you to work in New Zealand.

You may be eligible for relocation assistance, and we offer a generous continuing medical education allowance with remunerated leave.
