What you'll be responsible for
Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical systems, equipment and components in industrial settings, ensuring compliance with New Zealand Electrical Standards and regulations.Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant and equipment, adhering to best practices, manufacturers’ recommendations and NZ regulatory requirements, and accurately record all tasks in the Veolia Asset Management System (VAMS).Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve electrical problems using testing devices and analytical tools, including programming, variable‑speed drives and other automated systems.Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and wiring diagrams; update electrical drawings as needed.Manage and organise electrical work autonomously, including scoping projects, obtaining authorisations and working safely at heights, in confined spaces and on elevated platforms as required.Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, providing inductions, issuing work plans, supervising when needed and auditing their work to ensure compliance with NZ standards and company policies.Conduct inspections, monitor equipment performance and provide detailed reports on plant status, work programmes and required information to the Maintenance Coordinator, documenting all findings and actions in VAMS.Operate workshop equipment, manage inventory and organise supplies for maintenance work, ensuring all tools and materials meet NZ safety and quality standards.Participate in the on‑call duty roster and promptly escalates issues to Team Leaders and Coordinators when necessary, logging all incidents and responses in VAMS.Maintain required trade qualifications, certifications and competencies through ongoing training and professional development, staying current with NZ electrical codes and industry best practices.Contribute to and comply with Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management Systems, including adherence to Veolia’s policies, procedures and the V‑ANZ Behaviour Framework (CRIPT).Use the Veolia Asset Management System (VAMS) to record all corrective and preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, equipment status updates and other relevant information, collaborating effectively with internal staff and undertaking general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client, always prioritising safety and compliance with NZ standards.What you'll need to be successful

Trade qualification – ElectricalComputer literacyExperience
