Contract Manager – Road Maintenance

We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join our client's Senior Leadership Team and lead a well-established road maintenance team in Auckland.

This role involves overseeing a team responsible for maintaining sealed and unsealed roads, managing emergency response efforts, engaging with stakeholders, and delivering a comprehensive program of surfacing renewals and rehabilitation projects. Now in its third year of a ten-year contract, this project continues to perform strongly.

As Contract Manager, you will take ownership of network maintenance and renewal operations, ensuring excellence in financial and commercial performance, pricing variations, client engagement, and work planning. You will play a key role in fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and the community.

What You’ll Bring to the Role :

Extensive experience in New Zealand road maintenance contracts

Strong understanding of technical, contractual, and financial aspects of road maintenance

Proven leadership skills with a strategic mindset and commercial expertise

Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and CRM systems

Experience with RAMM, RAMM Contractor, and Pocket RAMM

Adaptability and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment

Commitment to health and safety best practices

Preferred but not essential : Tertiary qualification (BEng, NZCE Civil, or Diploma in Engineering)
