Senior Communications Advisor

Overview

Senior Communications Advisor, fixed-term, within Pharmac’s Communications team. We are looking for a seasoned communications professional with a sharp media instinct who can hit the ground running to help shape public understanding of the important work that Pharmac does for New Zealanders.

Join a small, experienced team to own proactive media space, prepare high-quality communications for senior leaders and Ministers, and provide expert advice to support Pharmac's reputation. You will manage reactive media engagement and maintain key media relationships and other stakeholders.

You will understand how the media works, be an excellent writer, and be able to tell Pharmac's stories in new, interesting ways. You’ll help produce publications describing Pharmac's contribution to health and wellbeing through various channels.

Your ideal candidate will have :

• Experience in media relations and a strong understanding of media priorities and processes
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Sound judgement and strong political nous

• Ability to navigate changing priorities calmly and professionally
• Curiosity and an innovative approach to work

Salary

The range for this position is $91,814 – $124,220 total remuneration, inclusive of 3% KiwiSaver Employer contribution, with starting salary up to $108,017 depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.
