The role has both national and international scope, with an immediate focus on leading major consulting assignments within New Zealand and continuing to build trusted, long-term relationships with senior clients.

The Lead Strategy & Innovation Consultant will work alongside the Head of Strategy & Innovation to design and deliver high-impact advisory engagements for Boards, executive teams, and senior business leaders. The remit spans the full strategic lifecycle : developing corporate and growth strategies, facilitating executive alignment, shaping value propositions, and guiding the validation of new products, services, and business models. This is a hands-on senior consulting role that combines strategic insight, facilitation, and delivery. It carries responsibility not only for leading critical client work but also for contributing to the evolution of Purple Shirt’s consulting frameworks as the business scales globally. The position would suit an experienced consultant who brings intellectual depth, strong commercial acumen, and the credibility to advise at the highest levels.

Candidate profile

• At least eight years’ experience in a prestigious management consulting environment, leading projects for large, complex organisations.
• Deep experience in business strategy, and best practice exposure to innovation methods.
• Understanding of the emerging role of AI in shaping business strategy and driving competitive advantage.
• Proven ability to facilitate strategy workshops and engage credibly with Boards and executive teams.
• Strong analytical, commercial, and storytelling capability, able to translate insight into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Collaborative, confident, and adaptable, comfortable working across multiple industries and sectors.
• Established professional networks in New Zealand and credibility with senior stakeholders.
