Job Description :

We are looking for a Chef to join our busy Indian restaurant in Wellington with a solid

reputation for its unique Indian cuisine and outstanding service. You guarantee a

minimum of 30 hours per week with competitive rates between $28 and $35p / h

depending on your skills. You will be working as per the roster hence flexibility is

essential in this role.

Track record of reliability and consistent performance essential.

The successful applicant will have great training and support from an experienced

management team.

What you will be doing day-to-day :

• Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food items according to approved specifications and recipes, ensuring food is prepared on time and within designated schedules.
• Planning menus, estimating food costs
• Check all materials and foodstuffs, ensuring they are used before spoilage.
• Keep all food preparation areas clean at all times.
• Supervise tasks performed by assistants and other workers in the designated section.
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Maintain efficient sanitation services, garbage disposal, and chilling systems in compliance with regulations and requirements.
• Ensure machinery is operated, cleaned, and stored correctly; kitchen drawers and shelves are kept clean and tidy, with regular inspections and timely corrections.
