We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Huntercombe, a category C Prison located in Oxfordshire.

HMP Huntercombe is a male prison housing 520 foreign nationals.

We are recruiting for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to support the wide Pharmacy team consisting of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Shift patterns are - Monday -Friday

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

Complete general dispensary duties and stock management

Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service

Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings

Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas

Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return

Participate in dispensing of prescriptions

Qualifications Required

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills / equivalent or working towards

Medicines handling experience desirable not essential

Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent

A non-judgmental and compassionate approach

Excellent communication skills

Good IT skills and IT literacy

Ability to work within a busy environment

Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
