Speech Language Therapist
Ministry of Education New Zealand is looking for a Speech Language Therapist (1.0 FTE) based in the Porirua regional office, with flexibility to work across the Greater Wellington region as business needs require.
About this role
Collaborate with a supportive trans-disciplinary team to drive improved learning outcomes for children and young people with speech and language difficulties.
Responsibilities
Understand the impact of children's and young people's speech and language difficulties in the context of their home, school, and community.
Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, teachers and other specialists to support children's development of speech, language and communication skills.
Work as part of a trans-disciplinary team, often engaging with children with complex needs.
Salary
Salary range : $69,966 – $112,270 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.
Salary will reflect individual skills and experience.

About you
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Therapy (or equivalent) meeting NZ Speech-Language Therapists Association requirements.
Specialist knowledge of theory, research and practice related to speech-language, child and human development, learning and behaviour.
Ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information.
Ability to co-ordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and teachers across diverse settings.
Understanding and application of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
Willingness to adhere to Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
