About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role within complex or large programmes, projects, and products, ensuring that business analysis outcomes effectively support successful delivery. This role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and fellow analysts to accurately capture and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. By analysing and documenting requirements, assessing business processes, and providing valuable insights, the Senior Business Analyst ensures solutions are well‑aligned with strategic objectives and deliver maximum value to the organisation.

About the Team / Service / Location

The Senior Business Analyst will be part of a highly skilled and collaborative team within Health New Zealand's Digital Services Directorate, focused on delivering business analysis outcomes that underpin complex and large‑scale programmes, projects, and products. This team works closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business units and delivery teams, to ensure that requirements are accurately captured and translated into actionable solutions aligned with strategic objectives. In addition, the team collaborates with other Business Analysts and key stakeholders to provide valuable insights that shape project outcomes and drive maximum value for the organisation. Together, these teams foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and business excellence, playing a crucial role in supporting Health New Zealand's ongoing digital transformation and operational success.

About you

You are a seasoned digital professional with a strong background in business analysis and a passion for delivering impactful solutions. You bring a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to driving successful outcomes within complex technology environments. As a key contributor, you engage stakeholders effectively and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis roles within technology environments
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects and initiatives
  • Experience working within both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Skilled in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation, with expertise in business analysis methodologies and tools
  • Experience facilitating large‑scale workshops and stakeholder meetings
  • Working for Health New Zealand
