About this role
Te Poutahu (Curriculum Centre) is seeking a permanent Advisor, Business Support based in Wellington to help shape the way we respond to ministerial requests, media enquiries, and official correspondence.
You will ensure timely, high-quality responses that reflect the Ministry's values and strategic direction, build strong relationships, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Skills and Experience
Working knowledge of policy, legislation and the machinery of government
Analytical ability to quickly dissimilate information and provide clear, transparent responses
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to analyse information, obtain clarity and make well-informed judgments
Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks and manage competing priorities
Collaborative relationship building and exemplary customer-service skills when dealing with the public
Composure and resilience with a flexible can-do attitude
Sharp eye for detail and high level of accuracy
Salary
Salary range : $65,801 – $79,195 per annum + 3 % KiwiSaver.
The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary reflecting individual skills and experience.

You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, with strong coordination skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality work that supports strategic outcomes.
Skilled in managing and tracking Ministerial requests, OIA responses, and high-priority correspondence under pressure and in a timely manner
Adept at gathering insights, drafting clear communications, and ensuring alignment with organisational messaging
Collaborative and solutions-focused, with a talent for influencing without authority and driving continuous improvement
Willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct

Te Poutahu leads the national curricula for Aotearoa New Zealand and associated assessment processes.
We design, develop, and provide curriculum services that reflect Maori, disability, inclusive learning and culturally relevant content.
