Propellerhead operates a hybrid working model (work from our office and from your own home). While you must be based in Auckland , we warmly welcome applications from Developers across New Zealand and internationally who are planning to relocate to Auckland (please specify relocation plans in your application).

The Role :

Propellerhead is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our core service delivery team. You will design and build software beyond routine feature work - projects supporting real-world customers and contributing to the systems shaping tomorrow’s internet. You will work alongside thoughtful, principled engineers in a team that values autonomy, technical craft, and making things that last.

We are looking for someone who will enthusiastically help our customers move into the next generation of the internet , with an interest in edge computing and / or self-sovereignty of data and identity. We are focused on enabling trust everywhere, with open, standards-based systems designed to scale securely and transparently.

Role Responsibilities :

• Defining, together with your team, and in line with our innovation strategy, the set of technologies and programming languages that would best serve the solution you are designing and building.
• Active participation in all aspects of software solution design, including code structure, deployment architecture, DevOps, automated testing and integration of third party systems.
• Collaborating with client stakeholders and with fellow Propellerhead Developers, Analysts, and Solution Architects, to create a shared understanding of the solution design and roadmap delivery in line with agreed budgets.
• Constructing software at every layer of the stack, from user interfaces, back end services, data repositories, interoperability, infrastructure-as-code, deployment pipelines, automated testing and system monitoring.
• Providing second-line support of the systems you build and actively seeking ways to keep your software secure, performant and reliable.
• Passing on your learning of new technologies or techniques to the broader organisation as part of our knowledge sharing programme.
