Junior classroom teacher Māori Medium

Full time, Fixed term, Start Date : 27 / 01 / 2026, End Date : 16 / 12 / 2026 (Extended leave)

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher. English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts.

1 x Māori immersion teachers allowance (MITA) may apply

We are looking for a culturally responsive, reflective and collaborative teacher to join our Kura for 2025 working alongside a dedicated and passionate team. This will be in a Junior Māori Medium Level 3 bi-lingual class.

We are looking for someone who will :

• work collegially with all staff across the school and demonstrate our KORAU values through words and actions.
• have some experience in te reo Māori me ona tikanga and be open to learning.
• have experience teaching across the curriculum.
• be open to take part in te reo PLD.
• develop successful learning programmes tailored to meet the needs of all learners.
• fully contribute to the success and strength of the team and our staff as a whole.
• be willing to become part of the Koraunui School whanau.

Our school has a diverse ethnic makeup including 40% of our students identifying as Māori and 20% identifying as Pasifika. Experience, knowledge and understanding of working with diverse ethnic groups is a requirement for our staff.

Our staff enjoy working together and providing stimulating and engaging learning experiences for the tamariki. This includes a strong focus on science and the environment.
