Auckland Council's Auckland Urban Development Office within the Resilience and Infrastructure Division has an opportunity for a

Senior Advisor PfMO

to join the Growth and Regeneration Delivery team.

This critical role focuses on promoting project management methods and standards across Auckland Council, supporting teams to deliver high-quality projects, and continuously improving portfolio management practices.

The position is fixed-term, ending February

  • , and is hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

Drive excellence in project management standards and frameworks.

Provide expert guidance and leadership to improve project delivery.

Support a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Support the business to apply best-practice project management standards and frameworks.

Provide quality assurance for key project artefacts and deliverables.

Coach and guide project managers and coordinators to improve delivery outcomes.

Develop and enhance tools, templates and processes to strengthen PfMO capability.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and excellence.

Qualifications

Proven experience developing and implementing project management frameworks and tools.

Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to lead change and uplift capability.

Experience in planning and performance management within local or central government.

A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, management, economics, business, or a similar field.

Experience in similar roles within large, complex and potentially political organisations.
