We are looking for a skilled network engineer to support and evolve one of New Zealand's largest and most advanced campus network infrastructures.
Spanning multiple campuses, our environment includes thousands of wireless access points, extensive wired infrastructure, and large-scale data-centre and Internet border systems.
This role offers hands-on experience with next-generation technologies across campus, wireless, optical, and network-security domains.
You will contribute to projects such as fabric-based architectures, next-gen wireless deployments, and AI-driven performance optimisation, while supporting critical services that enable teaching, research and student life.
Your work will be key to enabling flexible, automated and scalable network solutions, collaborating with infrastructure, security and digital innovation teams, and having access to professional development and certification opportunities.
Skills and experience
Experience supporting multiple platforms and environments.
Exposure to hybrid-cloud, multi-datacentre / site environments.
Experience with, and practical knowledge of networks : LAN, WAN, wired, wireless, security, unified communication, passive optical LAN.
Knowledge of Layer 1-7 protocols.
Enterprise / Service Provider Network troubleshooting, operation and support.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position, based in Otepoti, Dunedin.
Salary : $99,364 to $107,888 per annum (top of the range $114,280).
