OverviewWhanau Awhina Plunket is the largest service in Aotearoa supporting the health and wellbeing of tamariki under-five and their whanau, with clinical support through our traditional well child checks and 24 / 7 telehealthcare via PlunketLine.RoleWe're seeking a Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist to join our Plunket Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PPAIRS) team.

This is a 0.9FTE fixed term position until June 2028 supporting whanau across Canterbury.What you'll doYou will deliver two research-based courses : Circle of Security and Getting to Know You, these programmes look to support whanau to nurture strong, responsive and reflective relationships with their pepi and tamariki.

To strengthen parent's understanding of their child's communication, cues, and behaviours.

In turn, the programmes seek to provide more ways to respond to their child's needs, promoting secure and healthy attachment.Who we work withWhanau referred to the programme may have had a hard start to their parenting journey with a baby born prematurely or an acute health condition and may also be managing other social complexities.Where you'll workDepending on the need or participants, this could be either one to one in our client's home, or in small groups.

You will contact whanau once you receive a referral to book them into the course, and at the completion of the course, there will be some administrative duties to complete.About youYou will be confident facilitating in a group environment, but equally skilled to deliver tailored one to one support.

Success in this programme will require you to understand the whanau in front of you, and work in partnership with them to realise their aspirations.

Utilising your understanding of child development and clinical assessment tools, you'll be able to ensure whanau are well catered to with the ability to coordinate care and refer back into our traditional service for any developmental or clinical concerns.
