At TBI Health, you’ll join a fantastic multidisciplinary team supporting clients across Auckland, making a positive impact every day. We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) experienced in providing in-home assessments and interventions—particularly for clients recovering from concussion. In this role, you’ll report to the Regional Hospital and Community Team Leader and be a key member of both the Auckland Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Team and the National Hospital and Community Rehabilitation Team.

Responsibilities

  • Complete high quality clinical assessments and provide effective intervention and appropriate recommendations for clients.
  • Maintain clinical records which are organised, factual, clear and accessible to any authorised person.
  • Complete required plans, reports and forms for contract clients within specified timeframes.
  • Prescribe and order appropriate aids and equipment for clients.
  • Refer appropriate clients to other internal or external healthcare providers as required.
  • Develop and maintain good professional relationships with key staff at ACC and other insurance companies and health funders.
  • Liaise with Care Agency staff about common clients, rehab goals and strategies.

You can be based anywhere within the Auckland region. While client visits will require travel, administration and documentation tasks can be completed from your home.

  • Skills and Experiences

    About You : We’re seeking someone with a positive attitude who shares our vision and values. You’ll bring :

  • A minimum of 2 years clinical experience (experience with ACC Social Rehab contracts and Assessment Services, including Housing Modifications, preferred but not essential).
  • Genuine interest in hospital and community rehabilitation.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Desire to achieve clinical excellence.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing top-quality customer service.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development.
  • Current New Zealand practicing certificate, professional body membership, and indemnity insurance.
  • Full, clean driver’s licence.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
  • Substantial orientation, training, and support will be provided to help you succeed.

    About the Auckland Hospital And Community Team : Our team includes skilled physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and exercise physiologists who are passionate about rehabilitation. We work remotely and stay connected through regular team catch-ups.
