The role :

As the Food Safety Manager, based in Auckland, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams, factories, and third‑party manufacturers to strengthen and elevate our food safety culture. You will champion best‑practice standards and guide teams to meet and exceed a2MC’s food safety expectations.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the food safety strategy across The a2 Milk Company. This includes providing expert leadership on food safety requirements for all our products, projects, and installations, and driving programs and continuous improvement initiatives that support our goal of achieving zero food‑safety‑related defects across our supply chain and partner network.

More specifically, you will :

• Establish and maintain Food Safety standards and compliance requirements across a2MC.
• Develop and implement food safety strategies, programs, and governance frameworks that ensure zero food safety defects.
• Provide technical expertise on food safety requirements for all products and projects.
• Lead the development of pre‑HACCP assessments for innovations, renovations, and improvement initiatives to mitigate allergen, chemical, microbiological, nutritional, and physical hazards.
• Support factories and third‑party manufacturers (3PMs) in resolving food safety issues using structured problem‑solving methodologies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain and operations.
• Institutionalise standard routines and pre‑requisite programs and verify effective implementation with factories and 3PMs.
• Lead and verify the implementation of the HACCP Plan across all relevant operations.
• Design and deliver training programs to uplift food safety capability across the organisation.
• Analyse results, trends, and insights to develop ongoing improvement plans in food safety performance.
