About this role :
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a fun and dynamic team?
We are seeking aStrategic Transport & Assets Manager to join our Transport team and lead a team of Roading Asset Engineers & Strategic Transport Planners.
What I do?
You will be accountable for the successful planning scoping of the forward work programme
You will have oversight of Business case development for long term projects along with key stakeholders (NZTA, Regional Councils group, RATA)
You will build relationships and work with Waka Kotahi to support wider state highway and regional projects and represent Council in these forums.
You will be accountable for successful planning and handover of both short- and long-term Growth as well as safety, resilience, efficiency projects to Capital Manager for delivery.
You will ensure effective procurement and contract management of all contractual engagements, including ensuring outcomes, value for money, relationship and organisational risks are managed effectively.

What I bring?
You will have at least 5-10 years of experience in the Strategic Asset Management of Transport sector.
A good knowledge of asset management and strategic planning of road construction and engineering principles.
A good understanding of local government
A coaching and empowering approach to people leadership
A commitment to Zero Harm and keeping yourself and others in the workplace safe.
An understanding of, or the desire to learn about, te ao Maaori and tikanga.
