Aheinga | The Opportunity
Reporting to the Lead, People & Culture, the Marketing and Communications Manager will oversee communications, marketing, branding, and media engagement that reflect our kaupapa Maori values.
With a balance of strategic planning and hands-on delivery, you'll guide messaging that champions equity, celebrates indigeneity, and empowers whanau across Aotearoa and our kaimahi within NHC.

Lead our communications and marketing strategy
Elevate NHC, our Rangitamiro partnership, sub-brands and media presence to support our kaupapa

Responsibilities
Develop and deliver a communications and marketing strategy across multiple brands and audiences
Lead media relations, ensuring timely, accurate and culturally grounded engagement
Oversee brand management, content creation, and digital platforms, including social media and websites
Partner with internal leaders to deliver high-quality communications that reflect te ao Maori values
Support events, sponsorships, and external engagement that strengthen NHC's visibility and impact
Manage and guide a small team, fostering innovation and professional growth
Travel between our Tamaki and Kirikiriroa offices will be required from time to time
Qualifications
10+ years' experience in communications, marketing, or media, with at least 3 years in leadership
Strong skills in media management (including socials), stakeholder engagement, and project delivery
High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across diverse audiences
Understanding of health and social services, and commitment to equity for Maori and underserved communities
Knowledge of te ao Maori and tikanga, with basic or developing te reo Maori skills (fluent reo an advantage)
Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, or a related field
