Advisor - Operations Support, National Service Delivery Te Haeata / The OpportunityThe National Service Delivery unit (NSD) provides a range of justice services to customers around New Zealand that assist with administering the court system.These services include :

  • administering legal aid for those who can't afford a lawyer,
  • collecting court ordered fines and reparation,
  • transcribing activities in the courts,
  • judicial library support,
  • providing a centralised customer call and processing service.We have an opportunity for an experienced Advisor to join the NSD Operations Support team.

To be successful in this role you need to have exceptional communication skills, an understanding of the Machinery of Government, a well-developed risk radar, proven resiliency and the ability work as part of a dynamic and multifaceted team.

As an Advisor, you will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, comprehensive and tailored advice to business unit managers and frontline operations.

This includes developing operational policies, guidelines, initiatives and resolving issues as well as continuous improvement functions within NSD.

You will also be an essential part in the release of information to Ministers and Parliament, and responses to parliamentary, customer, and public requests for information;

this includes managing, processing, and drafting responses to requests for information, drafting responses to Ministerial correspondence and Written Parliamentary Questions.

You will work collaboratively with other business units across the Ministry to ensure that responses meet statutory requirements, align to publicly available information, and are issued within relevant timeframes.

Ō pūkenga / Skills and ExperienceThis is a busy and challenging role, so will require someone who is flexible, calm and can multi-task.

You will be joining a supportive and enthusiastic team who have a genuine interest in sharing knowledge and supporting one another in an enjoyable, busy and sometimes challenging environment.

You will have a superior writing skill for this role, excellent attention to detail, strong customer focus, efficient prioritisation skills and able to work under pressure.

In addition, skills in stakeholder management and the building of constructive and effective relationships will be important.

You will understand how to support service delivery and business improvement through a service design methodology in a complex and changing environment.

Utu ā-tau / SalaryThe appointing salary for this role will be between $72,634 and $93,591 based on skills and experience.
