12-month fixed term | Part-time 20hrs p / w pro‑rata

Hāpai Tūhono is a kaupapa Māori organisation leading innovative career development and workforce initiatives that empower Māori professionals, rangatahi, and whānau to thrive across Aotearoa. Creating realistic pathways with aspiration at the centre. (Moemoea)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead an innovative Māori‑led workforce and capability initiative. This role will oversee project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and testing of a new digital platform designed to strengthen connections between Māori professionals and Māori organisations across Aotearoa.

This position requires someone who can navigate confidently across Māori communities of SMEs, Not‑For‑Profits, and the Creative Arts Sector (CAS) , and professional environments, building strong relationships and supporting participants through early‑stage programme engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and coordination of a multi‑phase project
  • Manage pilot activities, participant onboarding, and user testing
  • Build trusted relationships across SMEs, NFPs, CAS and Māori professional networks
  • Work with technical partners to support platform development and improvements
  • Coordinate reporting, evaluation activities, and project documentation
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with kaupapa Māori values and community expectations

About You

  • Proven experience leading complex projects or programmes
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work confidently with Māori communities and kaupapa Māori approaches
  • Comfortable engaging across business, governance, community and creative sectors
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with digital platforms or tech‑enabled projects (an advantage)
