About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Technology to join our collaborative and forward-thinking team, commencing Term 1 2026. This position sits within the Technology Faculty and reports to the Head of Faculty – Technology.
Applicants should state their specialist areas and relevant teaching experience across Years 7–13. Areas of particular interest include Food Technology, Product Design, and Computer Science; applicants from all Technology disciplines are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be timetabled to teach within their specialist area(s) and across the broader Technology curriculum in the Middle College (Years 7 – 10), working alongside a large and experienced team of teachers. A willingness to contribute to co‑curricular Technology activities and to collaborate in the ongoing development of our curriculum is essential.
Key responsibilities
Teach within one or more specialist area of Technology up to Year 13Teach across a range of Technology areas in Years 7–9 as part of a supportive, collaborative teamMaintain high standards of teaching, learning, and student engagementContribute to Technology‑based co‑curricular clubs and enrichment programmesContribute to curriculum strategy and development through the regular review of units, programmes, and achievement data to ensure alignment with faculty and school‑wide goalsPromote and grow the subject, fostering student curiosity, creativity, and achievementAbout you
Current New Zealand teacher registration and valid practising certificateRelevant teaching degree or equivalent qualification and experienceProven success teaching Technology subjects across multiple year levels (Years 7–13), ideally including Food Technology or a related disciplineSound understanding of current teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and assessment practicesExcellent oral and written communication skills, with strong relationship management and the ability to connect effectively with young people, colleagues, and the wider communityA positive and collaborative team member who demonstrates enthusiasm, integrity, and respect for othersCommitment to continuous professional learning and to upholding the special character and values of Saint Kentigern — Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and LoveStrong understanding of health and safety and commitment to role‑modeling best practice in all learning environmentsWhat we offer
