Part Time (0.75 FTE), Fixed Term role for 6 months

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Consultant General Paediatrician to join our team at Rotorua Hospital on a fixed part-time basis (0.75 FTE)

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant and supportive environment, providing exceptional paediatric care to the diverse community in Lakes region across Rotorua and Taupo hospital sites. The role is primarily ambulatory based with no inpatient or after hours all service.

The role involves assessing and managing a broad spectrum of paediatric conditions. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to both clinical practice and service development.

The current paediatric team consists of eleven specialists general paediatricians with a full range of subspecialty interests, a senior registrar / fellow, three junior registrars and dedicated paediatric SHO support. Our team has well established referral links with tertiary centres for support.

Rotorua hospital is a teaching site for 5thand 6thyear medical students from the University of Auckland Medical School.

Mōkoe | About you

Full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (or suitable qualification recognized in NZ).

Specialist qualification in Paediatric Medicine (e.g., FRACP or equivalent).

Demonstrated experience and interest in behavioural or developmental paediatrics.

Maintains a high standard of clinical practice with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and cultural competency.
