Purchasing Specialist

Join us at Kormax, we are leaders in innovative engineering solutions and we are looking for a results-driven and adaptable individual to join our Palmerston North team as Purchasing Specialist.

In this role, you'll help drive efficiency, streamline operations, and support our dynamic team to ensure smooth day-to-day functions.

Key responsibilities include

Purchasing & Sourcing

Use analytical tools to source and purchase engineering materials and castings from international suppliers.

Optimise the cost chain by identifying and securing the most cost-effective purchasing options.

Communication & Coordination

Maintain regular contact with internal and external stakeholders along the supply chain, keeping everyone updated on expected deliveries and arrivals.

Assist the Customer Services Team by managing inbound calls and addressing operational queries.

Inhouse operations support

Issue works orders / Bill of Materials and assist with operations analysis to improve efficiency.

Coordinate quality inspections for incoming shipments to ensure they meet specifications.

In person liaison with the Warehouse team on all inbound and export shipments.

Systems

Keep the ERP system up to date, ensuring accuracy and smooth flow of operations.

Understand and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act

What You Bring

Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or a similar field is essential.

Relevant tertiary qualification.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) is essential.

Experience in ERP systems required - MYOB Advanced / Acumatica Netstock preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Ability to work independently while being a proactive team player.

A solutions-oriented, initiative-taking person capable of managing priorities and meeting deadlines.

A positive attitude, sense of humour, and a willingness to contribute to a fun and energetic team culture.
