About the role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements.

You will also encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves.

Your key responsibilities will be :

Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every Resident

Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves

Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing

Take instruction and tasks from the Registered Nurse

Ensure resident's needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner

We work with a fixed roster so you can plan ahead but the ability to offer some flexibility to pick up additional shifts, to provide cover in the home is always welcomed.

Passionate about the wellbeing of older people, you are enthusiastic but patient; well-organised with great interpersonal skills.

We are looking for :

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Healthcare Assistant

Must hold at least a Level 2 NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing

Experience working with elderly residents in a rest home or aged care setting is essential

Tech-savvy and confident using various systems for documentation and communication

Ability to travel and work in Lower Hutt and / or Karori, Johnsonville and Tawa
