Join a creative project bringing a unique horror-themed YouTube series to life through anime-style animation. This series follows a group of friends navigating a realistic, modded Minecraft world, encountering terrifying monsters and unraveling their stories across 13 episodes. Each episode concludes with a suspenseful or frightening four-minute animated segment, requiring a skilled animator to deliver high-quality, emotionally impactful visuals that depart from the traditional Minecraft aesthetic. The project is well-prepared, with custom music, voice acting scripts, and the first episode's baseline ready for collaboration. Your artistic vision and creative input will be integral to shaping the series' tone and atmosphere, and you will receive full credit for your work.

Responsibilities

  • Animate four-minute episode endings in a detailed anime art style, focusing on horror and suspense themes
  • Collaborate closely with the project creator to interpret scripts, music, and voice acting into compelling visual sequences
  • Develop storyboards and animatics to establish pacing and visual direction for each episode segment
  • Integrate custom music and voiceovers seamlessly into the animation
  • Ensure consistency in character design, backgrounds, and overall visual tone across all episodes
  • Meet project deadlines and communicate progress regularly with the team
  • Provide creative input to enhance storytelling and emotional impact

Skills And Requirements

  • Proven experience in anime-style 2D animation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating horror or suspenseful themes
  • Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, TVPaint, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and character animation
  • Ability to interpret scripts and audio into dynamic, engaging visuals
  • Experience with storyboarding and animatic creation
  • Excellent communication skills and openness to creative collaboration
  • High attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, professional-quality work
  • Availability to commit to a multi-episode project and meet agreed-upon deadlines
