We’re looking for a  Speech Language Therapist  to join

our dedicated team supporting individuals with  intellectual disability

Brackenridge is a not-for-profit organisation that provides person

directed, mana enhancing support to children, young people and adults with

intellectual disabilities and autism and their families in Canterbury. At

the core of our philosophy practice is our belief that all people have the

right to live in and be part of the community, and to exercise

citizenship. We have over

400 staff in a variety of roles that provide support services for people with a

disability, across a wide age range.

What You’ll Do :

  • Provide assessment, intervention, and support for individuals with diverse communication needs.
  • Support individuals with dysphagia, including assessment and management of swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate with support staff, families, and other professionals to create tailored communication strategies.
  • Develop and implement AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems where needed.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff and caregivers.

What We’re Looking For :

  • A qualified and registered Speech Language Therapist (NZSTA or equivalent).
  • Experience or strong interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities and / or autism.
  • A collaborative, empathetic, and creative approach to therapy.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
